The Perth Mint is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Barbie, one of the hottest selling toys and collectables in the world. Making her debut at the 1959 New York Toy Fair, Barbie quickly became a best friend to young girls around the world. The Perth Mint has produced a 1oz silver proof coin under the licence from Mattel Inc. This coin is released under the Government of Tuvalu and has a limited mintage of just 20,000 coins. The design of the coin has an image of Barbie on a background featuring coloured highlights in pink. The Barbie 1oz silver proof coin comes with a Numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
